Somebody requested a showing of the house. YAY! Lets hope they buy it. I feel like it is a sign. I was online all day yesterday looking at houses then the phone rings and someone wants to do a showing. I know not to get to excited, but this is the first person who wanted to look at the house. We are having an open house on Sunday, but I guess that didn't work for them. Lets hope they liked it and if they didn't, thanks for the inconvenience. It's a lot of fun trying to take 2 dogs and a baby out of the house for just one hour. All doing this during the baby's normal nap time. Some much fun.

Beatrix went to the the vet today to deal with her ongoing issues. I think she might be the most expensive Boston Terrier of all time. Well she has a lovely yeast infection on her ENTIRE body. Yes I know what you are thinking! YUCk and EW. That is what I'm thinking. It seems that Buster Brown likes to lick Bebe's allergy spots. All of this licking has caused an infection on top of an infection. Poor dog. Well at least now I know what that musty smell is. She now needs a bath twice a week with this anti-fungal shampoo. It is always fun keeping shampoo on a dog for 10 minutes. Yeah, not so easy. Actually it really sucks. I get to do this for the next two weeks, or until the shampoo runs out.

Tonight Kevin and I are having dinner with my family for Nick's birthday. I can't wait to have some time away from Liam. I know that sounds horrible, but I've been stuck in the house for 5 days with a sick baby. This mommy needs a night off. We are so lucky for Kevin's mom.

Since Liam and I were stuck in the house all week I tried to be creative with our time. I've been working on knitting and taught myself how to cast off. My first scarf looks like a blind person made it. It starts off very tight and then becomes loose. The next one will be better. (I hope) I've been teaching Liam some of my awesome dance moves. He picked them up really quick. (I'm hoping that doesn't mean I dance like a baby) He really likes dancing to Scissor Sisters version of Comfortably Numb as do I. :) We have also watched a ton of Yo Gabba Gabba. This is the only show that Liam will sit through. It puts him in some kind of trance. I am trying to keep things exciting even though we aren't leaving the house. I hope to get out more next week. Even if the weather sucks. I won't be held prisoner in my house anymore.

Sick little guy

So Liam is still fighting this horrible cold and now he decided to gift it to me! I'm so lucky. We are now both sick and stuck in the house with nothing to eat. I HATE WINTER. The only thing I want to do is nap but Liam has other plans. My child keeps walking around in circles talking incoherently and picking up every toy he has and placing it into his mouth. I am going to need a ton of lysol. I noticed today all these little marks on Liam's crib from him chewing on it. This crib is now the biggest teething toy ever. I remember when Melissa told me about Jonah doing this on his crib and thinking how funny it was. Now I get to experience it. Wood must sooth sore gums or Liam is half beaver.

The incoherent chatter coming from Liam is lifting my spirits. I told Kevin that sometimes he sounds like an angry German. I swear he keeps yelling nein! I can now say that my son is bilingual and he isn't even one yet. Genius.

Ava's birthday and Colts victory

Sunday morning started off pretty ruff in the Toole household. Liam didn't not sleep well the night before and woke up Sunday morning with a fever and a snotty nose. Great. I guess that is what I get for taking him around other children. He can't be the boy in the bubble forever. Since Liam had a fever and wasn't his cheerful self I decided that he shouldn't go to Ava's birthday party. Kevin decided to stay home with him since he went out the night before.

Ava's party was fun but I was sad that Liam and Kevin weren't there. The party started at 1pm and the Colts AFC championship game started at 3pm. So I decided to watch the first half of the game at the Theodores and then head homes at half time. I really get into these game and this game was the most important (besides the Super Bowl) of the season. I am a very happy that the Colts are going back to Miami!! While watching the 2nd half of the game I held a sick Liam and made him cheer through all his snot for the Colts. It is so funny because when I get worked up and start yelling at the T.V. Liam starts to yell and scream with me. So cute. He is a future crazy Colts fan.

Finally

I finally convinced Kevin to get me a digital slr camera. We decided to first go to Cord Camera in Nora. Kevin and I found it really funny that once inside Cord they had a limited supply of cameras and they don't carry Canon. Interesting. I think they should remove the word CAMERA from the store title. After being disappointed with Cord we decided to go to Robert's in Carmel. I knew that Robert's would have what we wanted. This place was packed but we were helped as soon as we walked into the door. After playing around with the expensive camera and seeing all it can do we were sold. YAY. Now I can take awesome pictures at Liam's birthday party.

The dogs and Liam have been my models today.

Is winter over yet

Liam and I are totally ready for winter to be over. The one good thing about winter is Liam's upcoming birthday! I'm so excited for his first birthday! I can't wait to see how he likes his birthday cake. I'm a little worried about having a big party in a little house. Oh well. I have no choice.

Since it is winter I keep trying to think of things for us to do besides going to Target and spending money. I've decided that I am getting a membership to the Children's Museum. Liam enjoyed himself so much that last time we were there. We are also going story time at the library each week. Today was the first day for story time and it was a crazy start. We met Melissa and Jonah at the Nora Library for the babies under 2 story time. First, Liam decided that he need to pee through his outfit. I had to run to the car for his change of clothes. Let me just say that Liam hates to get dressed and he is very vocal about this hatred. I was worried that the library staff thought I was beating him in the bathroom. Once I wrestled his new outfit on him we joined the rest of the story time friends already in session. I knew that Liam wouldn't want to sit through someone reading a book but I sure was going to try. He was more interest in walking around and looking at everything and everyone. Story time is exhausting, for me and for Liam. After story time we said our goodbyes to Melissa and Jonah and headed to Whole Foods.

It drives me crazy that there are cart corrals but yet people still leave their carts in parking spots. This is madding. People are so lazy. I parked next to a stray cart, dried it off (it's raining) and plopped Liam in the front. After shopping for about 5 minutes Liam decided that he was ready to go. I looked in my bag of tricks to try to keep him entertained and he ended up with is water bottle. This gave me another 10 minutes to do my shopping. Having a baby has taught me to shop with amazing speed. I needed to hit Target for some dog food and baby water but Liam was not on the same page. I guess we have something to do tomorrow.

My plan for each week is to always have something planned. I need to set up play dates and make sure that I get Liam out as much as possible. He loves being social. If we keep busy, winter will be over before we know it.

One other good thing about winter is FOOTBALL. I am a very lucky girl to have Melissa as a friend. She keeps getting awesome Suite tickets to Colts games. Last Sunday was a playoff game and we were there. I'm starting to think that we are good luck for the Colts because we won. Our suite had a very special guest, Gretchen Wilson. I had know idea who she is because I'm not a country music fan. This didn't stop me from having my picture taken with her. She was nice, I guess, I didn't talk to her but she was nice enough to pose for pictures. I got Liam a little Colts football. He loves it.

Gymboree

So I've been concerned that Liam isn't socializing enough with kids his age so I decided to check out Gymboree. I picked a Play and Learn class that fit his age range. We got there early. I got to sit, uncomfortably, in the lobby until our class started. I guess I don't fit the Gymboree mom mold or maybe I'm just paranoid but I felt eyes burning through me. Anyway once the class started I felt a lot more comfortable. Liam, at first, was timid, but then he started to gain some confidence. He seemed to be enjoying himself until he fell off a rocker and smashed his face on the floor. The whole place is padded and Liam found the one spot to fall that isn't. Poor guy. I think that he was also a little embarrassed that he fell. He got over this tragedy fast and was on the move again. I checked his little face and he now has a black eye. Great. I decided that he didn't need to rock on anything else and I would just let him explore on his own. He found 2 little balls that he didn't want to let go. There was one other little boy in the class and he was older but couldn't walk. Liam was curious about him so he went over and offered him a ball. The little boy, Gordon is his name, took the ball from Liam and smiled. It was so cute. I knew Liam wasn't shy. After exploring the place for about 10 minutes the teacher started an activity that involved a parachute. Liam has never seen anything like this and he wanted nothing to do with it. I tried so hard to get him to play but it totally freaked him out. Sam, the teacher, then started to blow bubbles and Liam started to enjoy himself. I think it was a fun time but I'm not completely sold on the place. We might go back. I'm not sure what I excepted, but after we left I felt a little disappointed. I think it was the size of the class. Only 4 kids and they were all older than Liam. I might try a different time slot. This class was during Liam's regular nap time.

The Children's Museum

Today we decided that Liam would enjoy the Children's Museum so we got him dressed and ready for fun. We arrived just after 10am(the museum opens at 10am) and it was already busy. A cloudy and cold Saturday makes the Children's Museum a popular place. Once inside the museum Liam was smiling. He loves to watch other kids running and playing. Since Liam can now walk we decided to free him from the stroller and let him wonder. At first he wasn't into this at all. He kept running back to me or Kevin with his arms straight up wanting us to hold him. So cute. We wonder around the 2nd floor for a little while,
checking out Egypt and the Barbie exhibit but Liam seemed bored with this stuff. We then ventured to Playscape and found where all the cool kids were hanging out. First Liam played with the water, then he played with blocks, then he played with flowers, then, once his hands were finally dry, he played with the sand. As we were leaving the Playscape I put Liam into an area for only kids under 2. Some jerky parents don't abide by the rules and let their 3-4 year olds into this tiny haven for the little ones. There was another little boy in this area that Liam wanted to play with. It was so cute watching him try to walk over a tiny little bridge. After he exhausted himself we decided that we needed to go but not until we took a spin on the old carousel.

Liam's first snow

Yes this wasn't the first time it has snowed in Liam's life, but it is the first time that I ever let him play in it. Thursday we finally got this huge snow storm that the news wouldn't stop talking about. You would think that we have never gotten snow in Indiana. Anyway I was super excited. I was ill prepared when it came to having a snow suit for Liam. I need to get on that still. I dressed him in 3 layers of clothing and then a huge coat. I didn't have gloves for his little hands so I put socks on them. Once he was fully dressed I took him outside and stuck him in the deepest part of the snow. He loved it.
