Friday

Lets see, Friday was a long day. I had a physical with a new doctor. I hate going to the doctor. So far everything looks good. My heart is in great shape. They did an EKG because I have a murmur. After doing all of the standard test, she sent me across the street to have blood drawn. The lab that they sent me to was awful. The 2 women behind the desk were terrible. One actually belched extremely loud. Gross. Anyway, the labs that my doctor ordered requirers fasting, but that last time I ate was at 8:30am and it was now almost 3pm. My doctor felt that enough time had past so she told me to go ahead. When I handed the lab order over, the woman behind the desk, in a very rude fashion, asked if I had been fasting. When I told her I had something at 8:30am she rudely stated "that ain't fasting". I said that I understand what fasting means but my doctor gave me the go ahead. Another woman behind the desk decided to add her 2 cents and told me that fasting means not eating for 12 hours. Let me just say that these women were awful. If I had been a supervisor in that office, these two women would no longer have jobs. After being beat up about not fasting, I asked for my insurance card back and my blood work order and told them that they were very rude and I will go some place else. They muttered some more rude comments as I walked out the door. I instantly called my doctor's office to complain. When I told them what happened the receptionist stated that they get constant complaints about that lab and doesn't understand why the doctor keeps sending people there. They then offered another lab. I had no problems at the other lab and was in and out within 5 minutes. When I told Kevin about the experience, he felt the need to call my doctor's office also and tell them how upset I was and to tell them as a doctor he would never keep referring people to a lab that has constant complaints. The front desk explained that some of the complaints never make it to the doctor. I guess my complaint did, because 5 minutes later Dr. Yerks was calling me for a recap of what happened. When I explained to her my experience, she was pissed. She was going to call and talk with the supervisor.

After settling down and having something to eat, I decided I needed to go shopping. I have no clothes that fit. Most of my shirts are now to big. We decided to go to Castleton. I wanted to hit Forever 21. I found nothing. I decided that I wanted to go to Anthropologie which meant we had to switch malls. Once in anthropologie I found tons of stuff that I liked. Once I tried everything on I then only liked 2 out of the 6 things that I'd picked. Of course, the 2 things I liked were also the 2 most expensive things. I decided that a new house was more important than my fashion so I put both things back. Kevin was upset that I wouldn't buy anything, until I told him that the one shirt cost $70. He then told me that Antrhopologie is for rich people. I then promised to go thrift store shopping tomorrow.

We ended the night with pizza and a movie. We watched 'Where the Wild Things are'. I was disappointed.

Sorry this post is so negative.

Liam was awesome. He got to spend the afternoon with Kevin. When I got home from my doctor's appointment they were having a snack by an open window. Liam can make me feel better with his cute smile and the clapping of his hands.

Thursday

7:30am - Liam wakes up with a super wet diaper, and when I say super wet, I mean soaked through his pjs. I hadn't any coffee yet and I had to change a complete outfit. Thank goodness we both survived. Kevin now gets up super early to practice piano so he always has coffee ready. Once the diaper and outfit were changed it was time for breakfast. I'm always worried that he isn't eating enough. I gave him a million blue berries, grapes, oatmeal. He ate it all.

9:30am - I decided that the front porch needed a fern and some flowers. Liam and I headed to Lowes. I picked some dahlias and petunias. Both of these flowers take morning sun, which my front porch gets afternoon sun. Oh well. I think they will survive. Yes, my maiden name is Engledow, but I didn't inherit that green thumb.

10:30am- Liam is stuck in his high chair eating cheese while I vacuum and dust mop all the floors. Once the cheese wasn't holding his attention, I broke out the Little Debbie treats. After I was done cleaning the floors I had to clean Liam. He was covered head to toe with cream and cake. I now find it very hard to clean with a toddler. He hates it when I'm not paying full attention to him. Nap time is the only time I can get laundry done. Moms never get breaks.

Once nap time came around, I went outside to pot my plants. After, I ate lunch and relaxed for about 10 minutes. Liam then got up. Nap over. I realized that he took a 2 hour nap and I never really relaxed.

I decided to take Liam outside to help me pull weeds in the backyard. I confined him to his wagon. He seemed fine with it. I couldn't let him run free because I was afraid of poop bombs left by Beatrix and Buster. Yes, I do go through the yard and pick it up when it is possible, but it isn't easy getting a break to do so.

Kevin got home late, and we ate pasta for dinner. I had to make a mad dash to the basement to workout. Kevin had band practice and had to leave by 7. That gave me a 30 minute workout and time for a 15 minute shower. Lucky me.

I am crazy tired and Liam is in bed. I think it might be a 9pm bedtime for me tonight.

Tomorrow I'm going for a full physical. The last one I had was at 21. I'm scared. I hate going to the doctor.

Decision is made

Last night Kevin and I signed papers on a new Beazer home. They start new construction next month. Yay! We have 4 months to get the house on Shannon sold. If it doesn't sell I'm going to freak out. Liam came out to Zionsville for the signing of the papers with his favorite babysitter, Grandma Toole. She kept him busy while we signed our lives away. Once all the signing was done we took Grandma and Liam to the Spec home that looks like our soon to be new home. Thankfully, Liam loved it. He totally ran around and picked his bedroom. I'm so ready to move. I'm ready to expand my little family and I would feel more comfortable doing so in a new house.

Today we had a play date at the Smith's house. Liam decided to sleep until 8:30 today and we need to be in Carmel by 10. I got him fed, bathed, and dressed by 9:15. I'm getting this down to a science. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Melissa's house. As soon as we showed up, my cell phone was ringing. Central showing called to let me know that an agent would be showing my house between the hours of 12-1 pm. GREAT. Yes, I do need people to look at my house, but couldn't they do it on my schedule. Liam got to play with Jonah for a total of 40 minutes before we were rushing out the door. I had to get the dogs out of the house before the potential buyers came in. I got home in 25 minutes from Carmel. Yes, some speed limits were broken, but I would have had a good excuse if pulled over.

I think I've never felt so rushed in my life. I let Liam drink water on the way home from Melissa's. This was a huge mistake. He is really into spitting and he completely drenched his outfit. So, along with getting the dogs out of the house, I had to change Liam's outfit. Oh, and Liam decided that he wanted to scream bloody murder the entire time.

Once the dogs were in the garage, Liam and I dashed out the door. This time we headed to Olive Garden to meet Jennifer. I hadn't seen her in a couple of months and she was full of new gossip. Nothing that anyone but me would be interested in. Mostly about our old jobs. Liam, was pretty good at lunch but started to lose his patients by the end. He had kicked off both shoes and one sock, and he had thrown every piece of food that I had given him onto the floor.

When we were finally home, I put Liam down for a much needed nap and I finally had a couple of hours to relax. When Liam awoke from his nap he was super grouchy. I decided to bribe his mood with a twinkie. It worked. The child inhaled it. After that Liam was on a sugar high and kept running around the living room.

Kevin got home and we had pork chops for dinner. I'm getting really good about always having dinner ready when Kevin gets home. After I cleaned the kitchen I went downstairs for a quick workout. Kevin, informed me that he needed to mow the lawn and clean the front porch while there was still daylight. So after I did 20 minutes of workout, I came back upstairs to play with Liam while Kevin did outside chores.

Kevin's dad sent me some awesome old pictures of Kevin. Looking at them I think Liam looks more like me as a baby than Kevin. But that is just my opinion. I'll post some of the pics.

A long weekend

This past weekend was a weekend of decisions. We had picked two awesome houses that are in Zionsville. The first house, a Ryland home, seems like it would be perfect. It has a nice circler floor plan with a huge loft upstairs. The flaws, it has smaller bedrooms and the master bathroom isn't the greatest. The second home, a Beazer home, is super cute. The front is made of stone (Ryland is brick) and it has tons of personality. The bedrooms are nice, but only one has walk-in closet. The master bedroom is nice because it comes with a huge bath and closet. The flaw is that it doesn't have the extra loft space. I enlisted Nick to help make our decision. He likes the Beazer better. Kevin always liked the Beazer better, but didn't think we could afford it. I am a master of negotiation. I got Beazer to take off $54,000. YAY. They are also paying our realtor fee on our home on Shannon. This helps us a ton. Now we just need to sell the house on Shannon before we start building. We are lowering the price tomorrow. Lets hope it gets to the magic number.

On another note, Liam is getting his 1st molars and is in a lot of pain. Poor guy. He hasn't been interested in eating anything. It makes me crazy, but I know that he will eat when he is hungry. I have been giving him a bottle still because I'm afraid he isn't getting enough calories. I really don't want to buy formula any more. Once these molars are done breaking the surface I am making Liam quit the bottle.

Liam is almost 15 months and everyday does something new. He can now tell me what a doggie says.

Friday

I hate going to the car dealership, but today, I had no choice. Liam and I had to get to Volkswagen super early so we could get the new Jetta's title info. Anya, our new helper at Tom Wood, was super nice but kept telling me that this wasn't her fault. Yes I understand that. She wasn't the stupid jerk that forgot to have me sign an important document and then never called to tell me to come in, but she was the lucky lady that received my phone call so shut-up and fix it.

It is amazing that they got something that usually takes 2 weeks, done in 15 minutes. Why can't they just give you this info when you purchase the car? Anyway, after getting what I needed, and extra cash from the dealer for the late fee, we headed to the Carmel BMV for the new plate. By this point, Liam, was super antsy and not in any mood to wait in line. I tried to entertain him with pacifiers, water, and his baby junk food. Nothing was working. I need Jane, the lovely woman that helped us, to work faster. She had a funny accent that kept getting Liam's attention. He would smile when she talked to him.

Once we were back in the car, Liam became very quiet. I noticed that his eyes were getting heavy. I didn't want him to fall asleep. We still had one more stop before heading home. I decided that I needed to bust out the Yo Gabba Gabba cd to get his attention. This worked. Next stop was Trader Joe's.

We went from East 96th street near Fishers to Old Meridian in Carmel to 82nd and Allisonville in Castleton. All of this before Noon.

Once we were finally home ,Liam ate lunch and went down for a 3 hour nap.

We had dinner with the Toole family tonight. Tomorrow is Doug and Dianne's 39th wedding anniversary. Which is awesome.

Thursday

The weather has been super nice so I decided to take Liam for a walk on the canal. I invited Stacy to join us and she was all for it. We walked from 10th street all the way to the zoo.

After the long walk we decided to head to lunch. Liam was extremely tired and didn't really want to eat anything. Of course he fell asleep in the car, and once we arrived home and the car was turned off, his little eyes popped open. I guess a fifteen minute nap is better than no nap.

On another note, I had to call Volkswagen today because I still hadn't received my title info for the BMV. Of course, when I called, the salesman that helped us no longer worked there. That's great. Our temporary plate had expired. They never processed it because they needed a signature from me. WOW. I'm glad I called. They are now on my Shit list. I will never buy a car from TOM WOOD Volkswagen again.

Easter Weekend

This past weekend was jammed packed. We started off Friday with a trip to the the Children's Museum. Dianne, Lynn, and Doug all decided that they would like to check out the museum so they all came along. After, Liam was exhausted and took a 2 hour nap. Once Kevin got home we headed out to dinner and then a quick stop at the Fashion Mall. I needed to find an Easter dress and already had one in mind.

Saturday we had Easter at the Toole's house. Lynn, Kevin sister, is living currently in Chicago and had to work on Sunday so Easter came a day early. We are super excited that by the end of this month, Lynn, will finally be back in Indy. We spent a long time over Kevin's parents. I like to see Robyn and Lynn. I feel like we don't get to see them enough. I hope that changes this summer. I was starting to get antsy when I noticed that it was already 5 and we got there at 2. I wanted to be home to watch the Butler game. Yes, I've jumped on the final 4 band wagon. Shoot me. I have always been a fan of college basketball, but it was always IU that I was cheering for. I love a good underdog story. I had to force Kevin to watch the game. Kevin, he likes sports, but he rather be keeping his hands busy and listen on the radio rather than watching. Anyway, I'm super excited for the final game. I hate Duke.

Sunday was Easter at the Engledow's house. It's always nice to spend time with the family. NIck's kids are very helpful with Liam. Liam wants to be a big kid so bad. Nicholas, my nephew, has every lego toy ever made. Of course, Liam wanted to destroy everything that Nicholas built. After keeping Liam from Nicholas room, we decided it was time for an Easter Egg hunt. The only two that were hunting were Liam and my youngest niece Bella. Liam wasn't doing so hot finding the eggs. He would get distracted by sticks and rocks. Kevin had the idea to toss the eggs just in front of him. He finally started to notice the colorful, candy filled eggs rather than the rocks.
