Friday

What a busy Friday so far. First Kevin dropped off Vada Kitty at the vet. She got her teeth cleaned and two rotten teeth pulled. What an expensive procedure. Kevin isn't allowed to work on cat teeth so we were stuck using the vet. I asked for a discount because we spend so much money with them, but she just laughed and said no. I didn't realize her teeth had gotten so bad. She has never really been a friendly cat but Dr. Wiggers thinks that this might change her personality. She must have been in pain for awhile.
Next Liam and I headed to Lafayette to visit John. He just purchased a cute new house and we were excited to see it. We were also excited to take the new car on the open road. This was my first real chance to get to drive it since it really is Kevin's car. Back to John's house. It is a cute one story 3 bedroom house with a huge kitchen and 2 full bathes. (I feel like I'm trying to sell it) The back yard is super cute with it's huge deck and white picket fence. It will be perfect for future BBQs. He already had it decorated super cute. He has tons of great pictures of the old days framed or just taped on the fridge. (Lots of pictures of me in my wild twenties.) I am super happy that John finally bought a house, but I'm also sad that he decided to buy it in Lafayette. Oh well. He has lived in Lafayette for so long now that I'm used to the distance.
After checking out the new house we went to lunch. John took us to a greek restaurant called Akropolis. The woman how owns the joint came over to take a peep at Liam and to tell me that SHE is cute. Silly woman. Take a good look at the outfit. He was in all blue. He is pretty though. Maybe I should put a dress on him to see what it would look like. I better not. Kevin would kill me. :)After lunch Liam and I hung out a little longer with John but needed to get going.
Liam slept the whole way to Lafayette and he cried for about twenty minutes of the ride home before passing out. I'm getting good at tuning out Liam's sleepy screams.

I am now super worn out and have the whole evening ahead of me.

Lazy Thursday

Today Liam and I did a quick trip to Target. Yes I go to Target on average 2-3 times a week. When we got home I decided to introduce sweet potatoes to the little man. This didn't go so well. He is big into spitting and I was showered with bright orange baby food. It was everywhere. I think it is so funny when he finally figures stuff out (like spitting). He constantly is learning new things and it is so much fun to watch.
I'm totally freaked out that Liam now wants to sleep on his tummy. I have no choice. He flips over so fast. I can't stand over him all night flipping him back over.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, Liam and I decided to get coffee with Timmy and Stacy. After hanging out in the shade at Starbucks we decided to head to the Farmers Market. Stacy wanted to get these wonderful tamales, but the tamale dude was all sold out. Oh well. Since there weren't any tamales and we all had a craving for mexican we went to Adobo. I have no idea why I decided on one of the hottest days of the week to take Liam for a walk downtown. I had him covered with so much sunscreen but I still felt he was getting a sunburn. (He didn't) Lunch was yummy but Liam was over being out and needed his afternoon nap. On the walk back to the car he conked out.

6 month check up and peas for lunch

My little Liam is 6 months old. Time is just flying by. We went to his check-up this morning at Dr. Yancey's office. I really love Dr. Yancey, but I'm not sure about his office. I kinda don't feel safe. I picked him because he was super friendly and I know lots of people that use him. We might be changing. Anyway, Liam is doing great. He is in the 50th percentile in height and 25th percentile in weight. He is long and skinny. Yancey says that this is fine. Liam is going to be a little guy. The little man had to get 3 stinking shots today. It is so sad that one minute he is laughing and the next screaming in pain. I hate it. After the nurse was finished Liam gave her the "I hate you" look. I thought it was cute. I would give her that look too. Stupid shots. He doesn't go back until December. Thank god.

After the trip to the doctor it was time for lunch! I decided it would be peas. We started with a small first bite. The look on his face was confused. He has never had anything that was somewhat savory before. He took another bite. With this second bite you could see that the confusion was going away and the yummy goodness was setting in. He loves it! Yay! He ate the entire jar. I hate peas with a passion so I deserve an Academy Award for my pretending that they are the best thing ever. Mushy peas. Yuck.

Sunday

Sunday morning we woke up and decided to go to breakfast at Zest. I wanted my dad to see the new car so we picked him up on the way. After the yummy breakfast and dropping my dad off we decided to go to Target. I wanted to look at the selection of car seats and we needed a baby mirror for the new car. After wandering the aisles of Target for a hour we left with some new fun toys for Liam and some baby food to try out.
When we got home we decided to feed Liam some pears. He was not into this at all. I think that tartness and texture are to much for him. After a few bites he gave up. I then tried to put him down for his afternoon nap, but he wasn't having it. He seemed to excited about the new toys. So instead of taking a much needed nap he played with is new blow up penguin that giggles.
As soon as we got home from our busy morning it was time to go out again! This time to the State Fair. Lauren and Wyatt were in town and wanted to go with us. We all loaded up in the new car and off we went. All I could think about was what am going to eat. First was the spiral potatoes with season salt. Then it was fried green tomatoes. (I'm starting to drool as it type this.) Kevin was dead set on having a fried snickers. The line was super long but worth it. He got 2 fried oreo cookies, 1 fried peanut butter cup, and a fried snickers. Yummy. Kevin and I then shared an italian sausage with onions and peppers. So good.

We were told by someone that since it was the last day of the fair that the livestock would all be gone. This was not true! I was so happy to see tiny little piglets. The worlds largest pig was gone which was a little disappointing, but oh well. I was hoping that Liam would take a nice long nap as we strolled along the midway but this wasn't happening. The sights and sounds were all to interesting for him and he stayed wide awake.

After spending a good 3 hours at the Fair we headed home. By the end of the night Liam was so fussy and tired. He was so over stimulated. I started to feel like a bad mom for not making him take a nap. Lesson learned. By 9:30 Kevin looked at me and asked "where did the weekend go?" We were so busy that he didn't really get anytime to relax. Monday always comes to soon.

A long Saturday

Saturday morning Kevin and I awoke very early. We had a mission to buy a new car. Grandma came over around 9 to watch Liam and we bolted out the door. First stop, Mcdonalds. Yes I know they don't sell cars there, but Kevin need a chicken biscuit to start his day. Next stop was O'Brien Toyota. We had narrowed down 3 different cars we would like to test drive and the first was the Toyota Highlander. We inspected the car and liked everything about it. Once we started driving I started freaking out. It was to large. I am used to tiny cars and going from a Jetta to a huge SUV was scary to me. (I know that the Highlander isn't huge but it is big.) Since I felt the Highlander was to big I asked about the Rav4. This wasn't an original pick but we wanted to test drive it anyway. As soon as we got into the car Kevin and I felt more comfortable. We took it for a test drive and it felt perfect. We still need to get back to the plan and test drive our other 2 options. I wanted to make sure that we were getting the perfect car for us. Next stop was Ed Martin Honda. This dealership was jammed packed full of people trying to dump their clunkers since it was the last weekend for this deal. We test drove a CRV without a dealer . They just handed us the keys and said take it for a spin. We liked the CRV a lot. It felt roomy and safe, but it didn't feel as comfortable as the Toyota. We know lots of people with CRVs and they all love them, but it just didn't feel as good as the Rav4. Next stop was the Volkswagen Dealership. I love VWs and wanted to test drive the new Tiguan. Again, this dealership was jammed packed and nobody could really help us. We test drove it without a dealer. This car felt and looked great but wasn't as big as the Rav4 or the CRV. We still liked it and were undecided. After testing this last car we needed a break. We went to lunch to look over all our options. We ruled out the Tiguan first because it wasn't big enough and it takes premium gas. So it was narrowed down to the CRV and the Rav4. At the start of lunch I wanted the CRV but after looking at the different options of the 2 cars Kevin and I decided on the Rav4. Since we decided on it I wanted to just go and get it. Buying a car is fun but such a long process. I hate the way the try to confuse you. We finally got what we wanted and drove home at 5:30 with a new RAV4.
Grandma and Liam had a good day playing. Kevin's parents had spent the week in Chicago and brought back a super cute Chicago hat for Liam. When we walked in the door there was Liam with is Chicago hat on looking super cute and happy to see us.
After having such a long day I wasn't in any mood to go out . I just wanted to spend time with my little man and relax at home. By 9:30 on a Saturday night I was asleep.

Yes I know

I am terrible when it comes to blogging everyday. I haven't really told anyone about it so I guess it really doesn't matter.
What did Liam and I do all week?

Monday- We went to Target, gave Beatrix and Buster Brown bathes and did laundry. I'm starting to think that giving the dogs bathes is a waste of time. By Monday evening they smelled like turds again.

Tuesday we worked on crawling and sitting up. Liam is so ready to be mobile. Everyday he is doing something new. He also likes to taste everything. I think everything in my house is sticky with baby slobber.

Wednesday we went to India Palace with Amber and Junie. I think it is so cute that Junie will eat Indian food. I didn't try Indian food until I was 16. Kevin and I are determined to expose Liam to as much diverse food as possible. After lunch Liam took his afternoon nap and I swept up dog hair. Yes this is my exciting life.

Thursday- Liam did not sleep well the night before which means I didn't sleep well. I think he is going through a growth spirt. He keeps waking up at 2am and doesn't want to go back to sleep. I had to take Vada Kitty back to the vet for the 4th time in one month. She keeps getting an UTIs and it is driving me crazy. Dr. Wiggers (and yes this is her real name) thinks it's because she needs her teeth cleaned. I think this vet sees me as a "cash cow". I'm starting to hate her and the cat. While I was waiting I met a very cute couple and their pug Milo. I think that sometimes I am starved for adult conversation that I will talk anyones ears off. :) Anyway I want them to be my new best friends.

Friday- Liam and I ventured out to Carmel to have lunch with some old friends. We ate at Kona Grill. We then stopped by Ossip and hung out with Dr. Acton. It always feels weird when I'm in Ossip. I feel like I should be telling people what to do and answering the phone.
When I got home my new swimsuit had arrived! It is totally what I wanted. I'm so glad I was picky. I hope to ditch a couple more lbs before our trip to Florida, but if I don't the swimsuit should still look okay.
We just got home from our normal Friday night dinner spot, Legend in Irvington. Liam made a new friend with a little girl named Adaline. It was super cute. The servers all love him. One actually took him from Kevin's arms. I'm really glad he didn't scream.

Working on my Menu

I have been trying out new recipes and have been very surprised on how well they are coming out. Last night I made pork loin, mashed sweet potatoes, and a greek salad that I made croutons and salad dressing for. It was very yummy.
Tonight I made homemade pesto pasta and grilled olive oil bread. I like this cooking thing.
Last week I decided to make a pineapple upside down cake. It is crazy what boredom will drive me to do. ;)
I really like cooking and baking, but this isn't helping me with my weight . Of course I finally become interested in cooking when I can't really enjoy the food.

Sunday

Liam worked on tummy time. The once hated tummy time is now the new favorite activity. He is working so hard on crawling. I just love watching him. It cracks me up when he gets frustrated. I just start laughing at him and his cries turn into giggles. He wants to walk. I can tell that he would love to skip this crawling business all together.

Kevin and I went to the movies! Grandma came over and gave us a much needed night out. We saw (500)Days of Summer. Loved it. We had dinner at Taiwan House which is Kevin's favorite new restaurant.
We ended the evening with an episode of True Blood. I love this show, but Sookie bugs me.

Saturday Fun

I liked Zest so much that I made Kevin go there for breakfast. We are constantly talking about moving so this was the conversation at breakfast. I keep flip flopping on location. Schools are super important but so is price. We love older homes and would love one in Meridian Kessler area, but the taxes are super high for public schools. I always thought that buying a new house would be exciting but so far it is only giving me stress. Yuck.
Saturday night we hung out with Amber and Mikey. Mike made us a wonderful dinner of Tacos al Pastor. So yummy. Ava and Junie sang songs to Liam while the grown-ups talked. We ended the night with a very delicious chocolate cake made by Kevin.

Friday

Friday -
Liam and I had a super busy and exciting day. First we met with Amber Lynch and Troy Myers for a yummy lunch at Zest. I hadn't seen Troy in many years so this was a very exciting reunion. It's funny when you haven't seen someone in years it's like meeting them all over again. So much has changed.
After lunch, Liam and I went to run a few errands. First, we went to our favorite place in the world, Target for birthday cards for Kevin's dad and an awesome humidifier for Liam. Then off to the vet to pick up Vada kitty.
For Friday evening, we had a great dinner with the Toole family at Red Lobster for Doug's birthday. Liam, the little angel that he is, slept the entire dinner.
